About Me

Hi, I’m David Leisey. I’m an instructional designer and eLearning developer based in Tennessee. I am currently seeking a remote instructional designer position with a company that truly values training that is learner-focused, engaging, and effective.

Throughout my career, I have focused on designing and developing learning materials that result in measurable performance improvement.

I have collaborated with global stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify learner performance gaps and create strategic curriculum plans that include eLearning courses, videos, job supports, and facilitator guides for ILT.

I enjoy turning complex content into clear learning objectives and engaging training materials, with a focus on clean and minimalist visual design. This design philosophy emphasizes the content without visual clutter and reduces cognitive overload.

I have experience managing multiple learning projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines, understanding that clear communication is key to efficiently delivering a high-quality finished product.

I have extensive knowledge of adult learning theory, agile development, and accessibility and design principles. I am proficient in development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Vyond, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

What I do...

Plan

Determine the best medium to meet training needs

Engage

Prioritize building skills through interactive engagement, not just sharing information

Evaluate

Focus on measurable outcomes so you get the results you are looking for

My goal is to improve business outcomes in ways that are efficient and visually pleasing. I’m all about skill building and using appropriate methods to communicate information, instead of unnecessary knowledge dumping that doesn’t actually lead to change.

I'd love to connect with you.

If you need a detail-oriented, outcome-driven, and discerning team member to create effective learning experiences for your team, I’m confident we will be a great fit!
